Life Update & New Year Changes

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a good Christmas, or break from work/school etc, or had fun celebrating in whatever way you do.  I'm sad to say that I have very much neglected my little corner of the internet this past year and I do hope to write more in the future.  My excuse is that I have had an extremely busy year, working on my business, which I will tell you all about very soon.

I am glad to say, that I've had a very productive year and for the most part I've enjoyed the whole process.  On the down side; if you read my posts all about the counselling I had last year, you will know that I suffer with bad bouts of depression and despite the counselling helping a great deal in many ways and feeling a lot better afterwards - this year I took a massive step backwards and my depression has been very difficult, to the point of being too anxious to leave my house for the past 21 months, yes really!  I may write more about that at some point.  So this is definitely something I want to work on and try and improve this coming year.

However this post, as well as being a mini life-update, is about the whole expectations of a 'new year'.

People say, "new year, new start or "new year, new me"".  New year is the perfect time to start that diet, or start exercising more, start reading or flossing more.  Why not take up a new hobby or learn a new skill.  Be more productive or finally quite a bad habit.

My questions is - !!WHY WAIT!!

Why wait for that clock to strike midnight to change bad habits or be more positive.  Why not start now!  Start when you as an individual feel ready.  You could get up next Wednesday morning or even suddenly in an evening, and decide to start reading books, or cycling, etc!  Whatever you want to do, for YOU.

In 2020 right in the middle of June, I decided to chance two massive life choices, and I am SO glad I did as it paved the way for my fresh start!

Why make these type of changes on this one specific day just because it's traditional and expected!  Be You.  Change if and when YOU want to, whenever YOU want to.

Ok rant over :-)

A New Year Catch Up

Hi, happy new year!  It's freezing today and currently snowing again.

Since I haven't uploaded a post since just after Christmas, I thought it was a good time to have a catch up with you all and tell you what's been going on in my life lately.  Everyone seems to have ill on or around Christmas this year, I'm a little late to the party but my Fibro has well and truly kicked in and I've honestly just been feeling horrible the past couple of weeks, this past week especially.  If you don't know what I'm talking about or if you're new here (hi), I have a health condition called Fibromyalgia and also EDS, if you would like to know more in detail, you can read my health post here.  Basically if I over-do things I get flare ups and by the feel of it, that's exactly what's going on right now.  I also still have anaemia at the moment, so I feel like I'm fighting my health all ways round lately.  I'm due to speak to my specialist this week, after 3 months of waiting for an appointment, about finally sorting out some iron treatment for my anaemia, so fingers crossed I can finally start that and I'm praying it kicks in soon!

I've even felt too rough this week to film a video which is disappointing as I've really been enjoying making videos over the last few months.  Kind of disappointing that not many people see them as I put sooo much work in to them and like with my last video 'What I Got for Christmas' I only had 7 views! But I guess perseverance and time will help.  I have another video planned to film later this week, I thought I would have a go at doing monthly favourites.  If you're a long-time reader of my blog you'll know I usually only ever do seasonal favourites, but I thought it might be nice to give it a go and there's been quite a lot of little bits and bobs I've been loving so why not do a favourites!

As for resolutions or goals this year, well one was to regularly upload videos and posts (going well so far I don't think) but we're still only in January so I'm not feeling too guilty yet.  I also would love to really try and get out and about more this year.  I have a couple of big events coming up in March and April, which I am SO excited about but then nothing else, so I want to try and get out of the house and actually go places, maybe just on a train a go to a new town or go and visit one of my friends and vlog the trip later in the year.

And finally, I have really gotten in to bullet journaling, wow have I got into it, pinterest has been my best friend this week.  While I've been feeling too crappy to do anything, I've been really enjoying scrolling through all the ideas and saving image after image, as well as watching countless 'bu-jo' videos on youtube.  I was given a really lovely plain notebook for Christmas and after investing in many new stationary bits (very naughty I know), I now am the proud owner of a lovely set of colour pencils, brush pens and fine liners to help get me started!  I have also been learning how to do some nice little fancy fonts and cute little doodles, I've already started on my index page, calendar page and main January layout, as well as figuring out the various themes I'm going to do for each month.  So far I'm not finding it a quick process which doesn't really work with the whole 'bullet' idea but I'm new, I'm still learning and I'm enjoying it, so that's good enough for me for now.

***********

Well, that was a lot more than I planned to write, well done if you made it this far, if you did write in the comments what your favourite colour is :-)  Also, let me know any particular posts or videos you would like to see from me this year and until next time, lots of hugs to you all and 'Stay Happy' xx

A Sad Look Back and A Hopeful Look Forward

Hi everyone, first off Happy New Year!!! :-D  I hope you all have a great new years eve and are having a good start to the year so far.  In this post I want to have a brief look back over my 2015 and mention a few of the things I'm hoping for in 2016, so grab a cuppa and get comfy, it's a bit of a long one!

I'm sad to say I didn't have the best year last year (ooh feels weird to say that already).  After quite a reasonably good start and a positive outlook, my ex broke up with me in May and things went steadily downhill from there.  Another major bad point was when one of my close family members was rushed into hospital in July and at one point we didn't even know if they would be here now, you can read more about that here.  It was a very difficult, stressful and worrying time and I literally ran myself ragged going back and forth to the hospital, helping them recover afterwards and generally worrying so much for about a month.

After that my health took a nose dive too, I obviously over did things and ended up having an epic fibro flare up for about 2 months, where I just felt constantly ill all the time and ultimately got more and more depressed, disheartened and stressed about everything!  My health was a big worry, I was feeling constantly tired all the time, I didn't feel like doing anything especially work of any kind and was sleeping way too much too, I felt like all my 'get up and go' got up and went!  Sadly that all carried on right up until a few weeks ago and I feel like I pretty much lost most of this year with trying to cope with life, the time just disappeared and I have nothing to show for it.  So needless to say, I'm quite glad to see the back of 2015 and I'm waving it off with a 'good riddance' look on my face! :-)

**********
The last few weeks however, have been a blur of working on Christmas posts and buying gifts, having a very quite Christmas and NYE, and eating too much chocolate.  However I do already feel different, I feel I have a little sense of hope for this coming year, especially in the way of it being a more productive time.  For a long while I've had several plans and dreams and have wanted to make a few particular things happen but honestly, I've never put enough effort in to making them happen, other things always seem to get in the way and during this past year especially, I've really lost out on opportunities and have let people down in the process which I'm not proud of at all!  So this year it's time to change that!  I have several exciting projects that I'm hoping to tell you about over the next few months, as well as this I just really want to put more effort into living, getting healthier and being happier.  Spending more quality time with my friends, a lot less time on my pc and drinking more water is definitely high on the list too lol :-)

**********
I do have several good things to look back on from this past year - even though my ex and I broke up, I still have some nice memories from when we were together like having the best Valentines day I've ever had.  My birthday was made very special too by having a really lovely birthday dinner with him and all my friends.  I also overcame some of my social anxiety last June by going to my best friend's birthday party, the first one I've had the courage to go to in years, I had a really good time and met some really great people.  We also held our own Halloween party with some of those people and had a really fun night :-)

And finally, last year my blog had it's 2nd blog birthday in November.  I ran another giveaway which is always fun to do and I had loads of really lovely comments and support from you guys.  I'm always so grateful for your support and for every follower, so thank you so much xx

I hope you all have a really wonderful year to come, fulfil your dreams and don't let time pass you by, grab every opportunity and make each moment count :-)

Hi everyone, just a quick post today mainly to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  And I hope you all had a great New Years Eve.Now the question I usually always get asked as soon as the new year comes around, is what are your new years resolutions and will I stick to them?!   Well, I will admit to be honest, I never normally do BUT, this year I really want to try.  So my new years resolutions this year are, to work harder and be a lot more dedicated to it, to enjoy my life more, to get out and do more things and get involved with an outdoor activity like volunteering etc, to get up earlier (hardest one of all!!)  And to really put more effort into the things I enjoy doing like my blog, my singing and making more jewellery!  (I think that all basically comes under the one main category of just not being quite so lazy lol)!!

So what are your new years resolutions?  I would love to hear about them all, so please leave a comment below!  And a very Happy New Year to you :-)
