Having a Sort Out and a Sale

Hi everyone, well it has been one very busy week this past 7 days.  I planned to do quite a big particular post this week but basically it's all gone to pot!  So for this post I thought I would try something a bit different.  I spent two of my busy days at the beginning of the week, thoroughly tidying one of my bedroom closets (the one that's basically full of junk all my stuff other than clothes!)  And by tidy, I mean I had a really lovely clear out.  I really enjoy doing that, I make piles for everything keep, charity, wash, giveaway, sell and usually a nice huge rubbish pile too!  This time I manage to fill up a whole box full of rubbish, another big box full of charity items and I found some really lovely bits that I thought were too good to just give away and I might actually be able to make a few pennies from and it was all things that I no longer wanted or needed and I'd just been hanging onto for the sake of it, as you do!

This is the tidy version. . . you should've seen it before!!!

I also came across some lovely old memories in books and photos and old letters (which I spent far too long reading, rather than getting on sorting), I could show you a few of these in a blog post in the future if you'd like?  And I had a very interesting find in with a box of old video cassettes, I actually found a little envelope with some money in, not a huge fortune sadly but it was certainly a big surprise and I literally had no clue it was in there, I must've put it in there for safe keeping years ago, I think it may have been from some of the money that my Grandad left me!  I opened the envelope and just sat there looking at it amazed for a good few minutes, couldn't quite believe my eyes.  So that's most of my holiday paid for next March, thank you Grandad :-D

Anyway, I made sure I took loads of pics as I went through everything before I listed all the bits online.  But then I thought, well they're all good bits that some of my readers might like. . . So this post is basically me giving you first refusal on all the bits I'm selling before it's snatched up by anyone else.  I also discovered a new app called Depop recently (which I'm loving btw) and it's the perfect place to list all the kinds of things, it's really easy to upload items you want to sell and it's free too! :-)  Honestly this isn't an ad, I just genuinely think it's great.  If you don't already have it, click on the link and download the app, you can then find me by searching for danij72

Anyway, if you see something you like, just tweet or email me or leave me a comment and we'll go from there.  Or you can go directly to Depop or ebay and purchase any of the items on there.  I hope you like some of the things, I will probably be adding more over the next few weeks too as I'm still sorting out closets and drawers, so don't forget to check back for any new items.

Thanks lots my lovelies :-)

1. Denim jacket 8 (the one I decorated a couple of years ago for a craft blog post)
2. Long sleeve Walking Dead T'shirt (sadly it's too big for me) size s/m
3. Cute black bag with silver chain decoration (perfect little evening bag)
4. Novelty black 'bodice' bag (something a little different)
5. Small blue makeup bag (I used to use it for travelling to put jewellery in, the front pocket is great for hair ties and rings!)
6. Revlon hair styling set (comes with several different attachments, a handy tips booklet and a sturdy wipe-clean bag to keep it all in)
7. Black 'Team Dixon' T'shirt with wings on the back (sadly it's a little too small for me!)
8. 'What to Wear Where' book (full of outfit ideas for ever occasion)
9. Dorothy Perkins black evening dress with a very 'swishy' skirt and silver sequin trim around the waist
size 8.  (Very lovely classy dress but I think it would honestly look better on someone, other than me!)
10. Very cute embroidered 'Winnie the Pooh' rucksack (bought for me as a gift but I think it would be better for a younger person, very sweet though)
11. Gothic purple coffin shaped wallet with black lace spider design (would go great with the bodice bag!)
12. Large pink cosmetic bag (it even comes with its own matching mirror, very handy)

If you would like to know more about any of these items, just click on either the Depop or ebay links, or just message me.  And don't forget I will most definitely be adding more and more items over the next few weeks.

First Impressions - Makeup Revolution Palette & Giveaway

Hi everyone, it's summer, it's actually finally summer here in the UK and what better way to celebrate than to do a new giveaway :-)
I was watching a great little makeup tutorial
video a couple of weeks ago by the lovely Fabulous Hannah, who I talked about in my last post.  For her eyeshadow she used the new Makeup Revolutions 'Fortune Favours the Brave' palette.  I immediately fell in love with the look of it and thought to myself, I need that in my life right now, so I went straight over to the Superdrug website and ordered it.

One of the best things about this palette that I noticed straight away is that you get 30 shades, 30!!  And for only £10.  Let's just stop and think about that for a sec, if you buy palettes from most other brands, Urban Decay for instance you usually pay around £35 for only 12 shades and yet the quality of these drugstore palettes are just as nice and just as usable, so to me straight away that is a huge bonus and a huge bargain (and you know how I love a good bargain!)

Ok on with the palette.  Lets just take a minute to admire that packaging, seriously though it's so nice.  Once you're past the outer cardboard box, the actual palette itself is a very sturdy container, with a good magnetic closure and a very handy huge mirror!  I really love the matte gold colour and the metallic gold symbol on the lid too, it makes it all look and feel very elegant and expensive!

Ok let's start talking about these amazing shades.  As I mentioned before you have 30 shades, 8 along the top and bottom rows and 7 on the two inner rows.  There's no real particular system to the layout; as in, the metallic's are randomly placed and similar shades are not kept together, but oh well that's not exactly a major flaw, especially when the colours are this impressive!

From start to finish we have (top row) Glimmer, Buffer, Peachy, Hope, Fortune, Skylight, Transformer, Midnight Rainbow.  (Second row) Ice Cloud, Golden Coins, Cashmere, Tip Top, Yes Please, Green Machine, Smoothie.  (Third row) Caffeine Fix, Latte, Pink Diamond, Creme, Drama Queen, Lonely Planet, Blacqua.  (Bottom row) Soft, New World, Favour, Sunset Hour, Super Gold, Winning, Brave and The Revolution.

I won't bore you with describing every single shade in detail but hopefully you can see from the swatches they are pretty true to how they look in the palette.
One thing I noticed the most, is that the more product I packed on, the better and more pigmented the shades became, whether they were metallic or matte.  I don't know if this was just because I was using the brush provided, if I'd have used a better brush maybe they would have applied a little better using less product, I don't know!

Also I expect they would look even better with a good primer underneath.  As I've only swatched them, I can't tell you how long they last but just by rubbing over them gently they did seem to stay put quite well.
One down side I will mention is high fall-out, especially from the darker shades, so watch out for that!

Obviously one of the most exciting and alluring aspects of this palette are the 6 marble effect eyeshadows.  I've never really seen anything like this before, I thought they were a really interesting addition to the palette and when I first saw it, I couldn't wait to try them out.  Thankfully I wasn't too disappointed, I would've liked them to be a little more glitzy and for the golds and glitters to show through the original shade a bit more but they're still really pretty.

However, the metallic shades were the star of the show for me Midnight Rainbow, Hope, Fortune, Ice Cloud and Pink Diamond are definite favourites so far, they're really beautiful shades and have an even more beautiful sheen to them.  I also really loved the shade Winning, which is a gorgeous rich purple.  The matte shades I think will be great for base eyeshadows and Blacqua is the perfect standard black eyeshadow.

All in all though, this is honestly one of the best palettes I've seen and one of the best palettes I now own because I know at some point I could easily use every single shade in there!  I just can't wait to try them out with a primer!

Do you already own this palette, what are your thoughts on it, what are you favourite shades?  Let me know in the comments.  Also if you don't already have this lovely palette and would like a chance to win one, why not entre my giveaway below, you never know 'good fortune' could smile down on you :-D

My 3 New Favourite YouTubers

Hi everyone, today I thought I'd tell you about my latest favourite YouTubers, a couple of which I've only been watching for about a month and already love and another that I found about a year ago and I think they're just amazing!  So if you'd like to know more, keep reading. . .

Fabulous Hannah I first noticed her on a couple of Gabby's vlogs and thought she sounded nice, so I headed over to her main channel, I now subscribe to her vlog channel too!  She doesn't have a great many followers, which I find quite amazing because her makeup tutorials and general videos are as good as the next big YouTuber!  She very sweet and friendly, just the sort of girl you know you could be best mates with and have a laugh with.  I just generally really enjoyed watching her videos lately and thought she deserved to have a mention and if you haven't already, go and check out her channel.

Mark Ferris Well, what a lovely funny guy!  I've been absolutely loving watching him do collab videos with Zoe for ages now, they are hilarious together and always have me cry laughing!  So I thought I must go and see what his channel is like.  Great timing on my part because he's just got a puppy (insert eye-heart emoji)!!!!  Her name is Teddi, she's absolutely adorable and he loves her to bits, I love watching them play together in his vlogs and love the way he chats to her, it's so cute!  I love the way he's generally so genuine, so down to earth and he just chats on like you're sitting down having a coffee together, he just a total gem and I've been really enjoying and loving his funny videos, they really relax me when I watch them too.  Click the link on his name to go and have a look :-)

Adrian Bliss firstly, if you've not already heard of this guy, where have you been!!  I found out about his channel from another blogger about a year ago, I went straight over to his channel and ended watching every single video on there!  He had created a series of about 20 episodes, all between 2-5 minutes long.  At first I thought who is this weird guy trying to be a YouTube vlogger, and doing it really badly!  Then I realised it was acted and by the end of the series not only was I hooked, I was practically longing for the next instalment. . . Which thankfully appeared at the beginning of June for his 'Vlune' series.  As soon as I saw his first vlune video pop up in my subscriptions list I smiled like a Cheshire cat and have now watched every one.  He's so funny without even trying and you've just gotta love his silent friend Greg.  I just think it one of THE most innovative and creative YouTube shows I've ever seen, absolutely love it.  I highly recommend checking out his channel, you will definitely end up subscribing and longing for more episodes, I guarantee it :-D

As always I hope you liked this post, please follow me on my various social medias if you haven't already (and if you already do, thank you so much :-D )  And make sure you come back next week, as I have a new giveaway treat for you!!

Until Next Time Stay Happy
