What's In My Makeup Bag 2015

Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a great week and enjoying the sun :-)
For this weeks post, I thought I would give you an updated 'What's in My Makeup Bag' post.  I first did this post back in April last year, you can check that out
here (ooh that rhymed). But since many of my 'everyday' makeup products have changed and I now have a newer and much nicer makeup bag to keep it all in, I thought it was time to let you have a little sneak-peek again.  So if you'd like to see what makeup items I use regularly, keep on reading :-)

I got this lovely bag a couple of months ago from Primark and I think it was only about £3.  I've been looking for something for a long time that was not only big enough to keep my makeup in but that I could also put my brushes in too, and keep it all separate.  Because, I don't know about you, but whenever I keep my brushes with my makeup, I find they get damaged a lot more easily.

So I was really excited about this bag because it has the two separate zipped sections.  I really like the peachy pink quilted fabric and I love the pretty gold zips and bow too.  It has loads of space inside and for the price, it's great quality, so I think it should last a good long while too.

Ok so on to the makeup

First off, my favourite foundation at the moment is the No.7 Stay Perfect.  The trouble is the bottle is huge and along with everything else I have to fit in the bag, it's just too huge.  So I keep a good usable amount in a little clear cosmetic pot with a screw-top lid.

I've tried several concealers over the past year and I still love the good old Collection Lasting Perfection (who doesn't) but I'm back to my old faithful Soap & Glory Kick Ass, it's truly amazing and I just love the setting powder too, so it's a great all-in-one.  I've even 'hit pan' on the powder, I really do need to get the full size of that, mental note!  On the odd occasion though (especially when the under-eye bags are looking particularly dark), I also use a dab on the Rimmel Wake Me Up.  I find it really nice a creamy and blendable and it lightens the area just enough.  I always use my Real Techniques concealer brush for this as it gives the most flawless look.

My blusher is old, there I've said it.  It's by MUA and to be honest I don't think this actual one is even available anymore and yes, I really do need to throw it away. Ooh no, I apologise, I've just checked and it is still available yeay!  But it is still a bit old.  Anyway, I am the worst at finding new blushers, I recently bought the Max Factor Creme Puff Blusher which was quite well recommended but I really didn't like it I found it left my cheeks looking blotchy!  So I really do need a new one, any suggestions?!

I was never in to doing my eyebrows, I thought what's all the fuss about. . . then I realised!  I honestly never do my makeup now without doing my eyebrows, it makes such a difference to my face.  I love using the Rimmel Brow This Way kit, although I never use the cream part (who does!)  I then finish them off with a swipe of the Rimmel Clear Styling gel to set them.

For my eyeshadow, it really depends what I feel like doing and what time I have to do my makeup!  For a quick look, I just use my old faithful Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze but if I have a little more time, I love using my new Collection Eyes Uncovered palette in Nude.  I mentioned this in my Spring Favourites post a while back and I've been loving it ever since.  The colours are so pretty and great for every day, they blend well, they last really well and it's a great small sized palette which amazingly fits in my makeup bag!  It makes me happy :-)  Of course I use my beloved Real Techniques brushes to apply all this and I love my old Revlon eyeshadow brush too.

For my eyeliner, I generally either use my favourite Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Stag that came with the Naked on the Run Palette.  I love this so, so much!  I add a little along the lash line then just smoke it out with my Real Techniques angled blush (how I ever managed without this brush I don't know!)  If I'm running low on time, I just use the same brush with a little of the black eyeshadow in the Collection palette and that usually works great too.

For my mascara, you know how I rave about the Seventeen Doll'd Up which I still love but my newest obsession is my wonderful Urban Decay Perversion mascara, it's just amazing.  Let's put it this way, if I could only ever use one mascara for the rest of my life, it would be this one. . . it's that good!

Ahhh lipsticks how I adore them :-)  Ok so I honestly have so many in my collection that I love wearing, but these little beauties are at the top of the list, the thing is I can never choose between them so I just always keep them in my makeup bag and just use whichever one I feel like when I've done the rest of my makeup.  The Five that I regularly use are S&G Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquer in Charm Offensive, so pretty, lasts ages!  S&G Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks in Nudists and in Raplumsel, both gorgeous shades and very moisturising!  Maybelline's Color Drama Lipstick in 140 Minimalist, which again lasts a good long while and the shade is really pretty and summery and finally the beautiful Aurora lip gloss by Tanya Burr, so cute and lasts a lot longer than most of my other lip glosses!  I also always add a little E45 lip balm to my lips when I first start doing my makeup, that way it has soaked in and my lips are lovely and soft by the time I finish, ready for a lipstick.  My other life saver is this No.7 Precision lip pencil in Nude, it's a really nice neutral shade and is a great base for all my 'nude' lipsticks and it really helps them last even longer!  :-)

So there we go, that's everything I use regularly and have been enjoying using for a good while now.  I hope you like this post, apologies for it being ridiculously long! :-)  And Until Next Time, Stay Happy

Review - Max Factor Excess Shimmer Cream Eyeshadows

Hi everyone, for this weeks post, I thought I would finally do a much requested makeup product review for you!  And this review is for the Max Factor Excess Shimmer cream eyeshadows.

I first bought one of these back in February, as I wanted something shimmery and long lasting to use for my birthday makeup and I'd already heard a few people rave about these, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I picked up the shade Copper.

As you can see, it is a really gorgeous very pale shimmery bronze that almost has hints of gold in it, it reminds me a little of the Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze but even more shimmery and not quite as dark.

As with all the shades, they apply really smoothly, as they are a beautifully soft texture and yet feel incredibly lightweight, and the pigmentation is amazing!  They blend really easily and glide on effortlessly.  They also build really well but as you seem to get such amazing coverage with just one swipe, I found I didn't really need to layer them up hardly at all.

I loved Copper so much, I couldn't wait to get more shades, so next I picked up Pink Opal, which is a stunning metallic lilac . . .

. . . And Crystal, which is a really beautiful bright silver.

All the shades are of the same soft, light texture and they all have the most amazing shimmer.  I've worn Copper and Crystal but haven't had chance to wear Pink Opal yet, apart from to do the swatches, but they do last and last and last!  I also like adding a dab of a powder eyeshadow of a similar shade just over the top of them, as it not only really makes the colours pop, it also makes them last all day!

I'm really loving these and can't wait to get a couple more of the shades.  There are 6 shades all together, Crystal, Pearl, Pink Opal, Copper, Bronze and Onyx, so I very much think Onyx will be the next one on my list.  It's a beautiful blue shimmery black and would be gorgeous for an eyeliner!  What do you think?

I hope you like this post, please leave me a comment below and let me know if you've tried these yet and which shades are your favourite :-)

15 of My Favourite Feelings Tag

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great week.  So finally there's a new tag going around, yeay :-)  Well it may not be that new but I honestly haven't seen it done before, until I saw it last week on Essie Buttons video, I thought it was a fun idea and just wanted to give it a go.  So here's my 15 favourite feelings, I hope you like it :-)

1. One feeling I love so, so much is the happiness I feel from my beautiful Poodle babies, they mean the world to me, the love and affection they give me back is priceless and the way they greet me every morning is just wonderful, it fills my heart with joy.  I love it when they wag their tails when I smile at them and playing with them is so much fun.  They make me laugh and smile on days when nothing else does!  I could go on and on :-)

2. I love feeling the warm sun on my face, as soon as it starts getting better weather I just long to be outside and could spend all day out there.

I love going to my local park and just sitting by the water soaking up the vitamin D and enjoying the gorgeous warmth of the sun.

3. Having a hot shower is sooo nice, I enjoy the feeling of washing my face and just the fresh, clean feeling of it all.

4. I also like putting my fluffy white bathrobe on after my shower, it just feels so soft and cosy, I love that feeling.

5. Who doesn't love the feeling of snuggling down in bed when you've just changed the sheets?!  I'm all about the comfort :-)

6. Taking off the bra, ooh the relief!

7. I'm a total water baby and just love being in water.  I'm not a good swimmer at all but I just so enjoy messing around and just relaxing in the warm water and being surrounded by it, hmm lovely!

8. There's really not much I enjoy more, than meeting up with my friends, having a good gossip, a laugh and putting the world to rights, they're amazing :-)

9. And while I'm out gossiping with my best friends, I still love having the Costa hot chocolates, despite the fact that it is no longer winter it's still very cold here in the uk, and I don't care; I love them, they're hot and tasty and chocolatey, just gorgeous and sitting there having my yummy hot chocolate laughing with my friends, makes me feel very happy :-)

10. It feels so nice, so exciting wearing an eyeshadow from a brand new palette I've just saved up for or a new lipstick shade I've been longing to try out.  I think most of us at least, can relate to that feeling makeup gives you, empowered, confident, happy.  I really enjoy putting it on (especially on days when my eyeliner decides to cooperate!) It's just such a great feeling.

11. On days when I'm not feeling my best and life is getting me down, youtube, or at least certain people on it, always seem to make me feel better and I just so enjoy watching certain types of videos that make me laugh or that can just generally make me smile and forget about the days troubles, it makes me feel so much more relaxed and when I'm having a hectic or stressful days, that's a very welcome feeling.

12. There's nothing like the feeling of hugging my best friend a loved one, feeling comforted and loved.  There's one certain person in my life that means the world to me and to hug them, is the most wonderful feeling.  I can also still remember how it felt to hug my granddad, he passed away quite a few years ago and he meant so much to me, having the memory of hugging him means so much, a precious feeling!

13. Kissing, hmmm!  Need I say more ;-)

14. If you've read some of my previous posts, you will know how much I love music and what it means to me.  Hearing one of my favourite songs, listening to my favourite band or listening to one of my old 90's favourites, it all just makes me feel amazing, so alive and energized, it's a very powerful feeling!  One of my favourite songs was playing in a shop the other day as I walked in and as I suddenly heard it, I couldn't stop smiling lol I must've looked silly but it just made me feel really good :-)

15. That feeling as you finish a post and hit the publish/upload button, a sense of real achievement, knowing I've worked hard on a post and being happy enough with it to upload it for the world to see.  That definitely makes me feel happy!

Just because :-)

Let me know what your 15 favourites feelings are in the comments, or even if you can just think of a few, I'd love to hear them :-)

Summer Wish List 2015

Hi everyone, for today's post I wanted to do a little Summer themed wish list (since the last one I did was at Christmas!)  When I first started I wasn't even too sure what I wanted to list, I had a couple of things in mind but I was even starting to rethink doing the post and thought, is there even that many things I'm wanting right now!?  But as soon as starting looking through a few online shops and my saved wishlists on Amazon etc, I realised, oh my gosh there's a heck of a lot! :-)  So here's a roundup of all the things (beauty, fashion and more) that I'm lusting after at the moment. . .

1. First off, I have to admit I have acquired a slight phone case obsession of late, I just love changing them regularly and having a totally different look from one week to the next.  The one I'm currently using at the moment is a mint green wallet-style case with a gold bow clasp and I love it, but I honestly have a list as long as my arm of various different new case I like, mostly from Amazon but some from ebay too, they're really affordable and there's so much choice, bargain :-)  Infinity, Pink Stripe, Blue Rose.

2. The L'Oreal Paris Color Riche La Palette in Rose, I've heard so many great things about this palette, I've seen it used several times in various YouTube tutorials and the colours look gorgeous.  Definitely something I'd like to add to my collection.

3. I spotted this really pretty necklace on the New Look website, they have some really lovely jewellery at the moment and I think this would look so nice with summery dresses or T-shirts.

4. Ahh the Jeffrey Campbell original leather Lita's (eye's glaze over), I think these are just so lovely and would go so well with so many outfits, I keep saying to myself 'one day I will get them, one day!'  I've heard they're really comfortable and easy to walk in too, so a definite wish list item for me!

5. The new Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, again I've heard so many great things about this and I would just so love to try it out for myself.  Sadly I missed the boat on the free sample that came with Elle magazine a couple of months ago, so if I can save up enough penny's, I would really like to try this.

6. I was scrolling through the Primark website the other day and spotted this really cute floral T-shirt, it was only £4 so I'm looking forward to finding this in my local store.  I think it'll look great with jeans, shorts or maxi skirts and the pattern is just so pretty.

7. Another Primark find, is this pretty summer dress for £8, I just love the layers and the denim blue colour.  Paired with a nice white cardigan for a little warmth (I know but I feel the cold, don't judge me!) and some sandals or flats, I think it'll look quite cute.

8. I've seen a real trend forming lately with pastel pink blazer and I have to admit, I do quite like it.  It's not my usual style as these type of blazers/suit jackets sometimes have the tendency to look a little too big on me, but I do like the look so it's just a matter of finding a style and size that suits my small frame.  I do think it's a great summery look though.  This one is a really pretty shade too and available from Asos and is currently on sale!

9. I really need some new shorts, it's been so long since I was last brave enough to wear them, I can't even find the ones I used to have!  I noticed lots of nice pairs last time I was in Primark for only £3, so I think I'll have to have a proper look in there soon and try a few on.  Although I'm very picky when it comes to buying shorts, I like them not too long but not too short, I like the ragged bottoms but not the turned up hems, so basically I can rarely find a pair I like enough to buy, way too picky lol

10. I love rings, I just think they're so cute and add a bit of sparkly to any outfit.  The top set here is from New Look and the bottom set is from Primark, I just adore the ring sets from there they're such good value and good quality too and they have such a massive choice of styles!

11. And finally, the gorgeous Jeffrey Campbell Spiked Lita's, Oh Wow!  I have been desperately wanting a pair of these ever since I saw Grave Yard Girl do a shoe unboxing with them back in May 2012, and I still want them SO much!  I've actually been looking in to it a little more recently and trying to figure out the best size for me to get and where I can get them from, so I may just think about treating myself sometime in the not too distant future. . . watch this space as you will be the first to know, because I will be longing to show them off! ;-)

I hope you enjoyed this post, please leave me a comment below and let me know what items you would love to get your hands on this summer?
